04/18/2024  "Buenos Dias! We have some swell and the rip currents are strong! Looks like the same conditions through the weekend with waves in the chest to head high range. Winds are moderate. Saw a few broken boards yesterday so best to know what your doing out there!"

Here are some fun things to do in San Juan del Sur;

Zip line tour:  Flying Frog Canopy Tours. Reservations are recommended. They do take walk-ins.

Sailing: Nica Sail and Surf has a beautiful 39' catamaran based in San Juan del Sur. Reservations are recommended.  The $50/ person cruise leaves early afternoon and returns around sunset. Here is a link with more information: http://nicasailandsurf.com/nicaragua-surfing-trip.html

Here are options for non-surfing activities you could do on your trip. We can arrange transportation for you from within the Hacienda Iguana. We require 24 hours notice to set up the transportation service for you.

Granada - a colonial town located on Lake Nicaragua about 2 hours from Hacienda Iguana. This is a historical city with sightseeing, boat tours around the 365 small islands, local markets for great shopping, good food, etc.

San Juan del Sur - a small tourist town located about 1.5 hours from Hacienda Iguana. There are plenty of activities - surfing, horseback riding, zip line tour, spa, shops, bars, restaurants, spanish schools, fishing, sunset boat cruises, etc. *Please note, San Juan del Sur is unusually crowded during Semana Santa (Easter week), where the town nearly triples in size.

Mombacho Volcano -located about 1.5 hours from Hacienda Iguana overlooking the town of Granada. The volcano has a national park at the top that has hiking trails of varying difficulty around the craters. With English speaking tour guides, there is also a coffee plantation on the volcano that offers informative tours of the plantation and its processes and has a gift shop. There is also a zip line tour.
